Co- President - Alexander Vincenti (CC ‘26)

Alexander is a sophomore in Columbia College majoring in political science and minoring in philosophy. Living in Glen Rock, NJ, he learned to sail Optis on the Hudson at Manhattan Yacht Club. He later learned to race lasers and FJs, and he teaches sailing at Shark River Beach and Yacht Club on the Jersey shore.

Alexander has been a dedicated member of Columbia Sailing, previously serving as merchandise chair and vice president. He is looking forward to a great year of sailing and fostering a strong team community. Off the water Alexander enjoys watching Formula 1, fishing, and spending time with the rest of the team.

 
 
 

Co-President - Chase O’Malley (SEAS ‘26)

Chase is a sophomore in the engineering school studying Chemical Engineering and Entrepreneurship. Originally from Kent Island, MD, Chase began sailing in Annapolis during middle school, and has been racing ever since. He was a varsity sailor on the Severn School sailing team in Severna Park, MD, where he helped his team find success on a national level. Chase also raced in the C420 Triple Crown circuit, and the i420 North American circuit, with team OneUnited led by then USNA assistant coach Matt Peters.

Chase is looking forward to a great year working with the new board, and can’t wait to get on the water! Off the water, Chase enjoys cooking, working on classic cars, and doing scientific research. If he’s not working on a project, you can be sure to find him spending time with his family, friends, and his dog Kuma.

 
 
 
 
 

Vice Captain - Gulio Basilico (SEAS ‘27)

Giulio is a freshman in SEAS studying mechanical engineering. Originally from just around the corner in Brooklyn, he learned to sail on Long Island’s Great South Bay during the summers. He has experience with a variety of dinghies, daysailers, and cruising boats. He’s competed in a number of local and national regattas, and has also worked as a junior sailing instructor for the past four summers. When he’s not by the water you can find him spending time with friends and family, walking his dog Loki, working in the FSAE shop, and putting the amateur in amateur photographer.

 

Secretary - Elizabeth Frost (SEAS ‘27)

Hi everyone! I grew up in Chicago and started sailing in my freshman year. I've loved it ever since and started sailing catamarans in Florida and Wisonsin, as well as participated in many club national and high school national events. At Columbia I am looking forward to getting on the water and having a fun time with the team!

 
 
 
 


Treasurer - Erik Trebilcock (CC ‘25)

Erik is a junior in Columbia College majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science on the pre-medicine track. He first learned to sail in Los Angeles, CA and has continued ever since. He is American Sailing Association certified in keelboat sailing and coastal cruising. Outside of sailing Erik enjoys golf, snowboarding, DJ-ing and trying new restaurants. He also is an organic chemistry researcher in Columbia’s Tekle-Smith Lab.

 

Event Coordinator - Amelia Thomas (BC ‘27)

Amelia is a freshman at Barnard College studying history. Originally from Chevy Chase, MD, she learned to sail FJs through DC Sail, where she crewed for their varsity team in high school and worked as an instructor in their summer program. Beyond sailing, Amelia enjoys playing cello, learning about linguistics, and theatre.

 
 
 
 
 
 

Safety Officer - Cecilia Horrigan (BC ‘25)

Cecelia is a senior at Barnard College majoring in Economic and Social History. She learned to sail at Lavallette Yacht Club in New Jersey at the age of eight, where she raced Optis and 420s for nine years. Later, Cecelia was a sailing coach for three years at Toms River Yacht Club. In her free time, she enjoys skiing and traveling.

 

Merchandise Chair - Alex Yuen (CC ‘25)

Alex is a junior at Columbia College majoring in Biology. He learned to sail with Nantucket Community Sailing (NCS), starting when he was nine years old. For the last three summers, he has also been an instructor at NCS, teaching kids how to sail, including his little brother. Aside from sailing, Alex enjoys studying marine life, fishing, building LEGOs, and playing squash. He also loves conducting scientific research, and is currently working on developing new vaccine-delivery methods at Columbia University’s Cornish Lab.

Communications Chair - Arielle Rieder (BC ‘27)

Arielle is a freshman at Barnard College planning to major in Political Science and Urban Studies. She is from Westport Connecticut and has raced throughout high school. She has sailed throughout the Long Island Sound as well as in Hong Kong. She has coached sailing for the past 2 summers, teaching younger children as well as adults. She is super excited for this upcoming year.

 

Social Chair - Andrew Doyle (CC ‘27)

Drew is a freshman at Columbia College planning on majoring in Cognitive Science on the Pre-med track. He is from Bronxville, NY, and is an aspiring sailor looking forward to his first season on the water. Drew enjoys drawing, playing squash, tennis, and cello. In the summer months, Drew spends time swimming, paddle boarding, and fishing in Southampton, NY.

 
 
 

The process for each board’s election comes at the end of each annual year. If interested, current members can nominate themselves for positions and present their stance to club members at the end of year meeting.
